Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if you have service in my area?

Click on Service Area  at the main menu at any time for our current service area.

How will it work if I have insurance?

We handle all the paper work billing your insurance company directly. All you pay is your deductible (if applicable).  We are members of most auto glass networks including LYNX and Safelite and have electronic communication directly to them. One call to us and we can contact your insurance company, take care of all the paperwork necessary and get your vehicle back on the road with professionally installed glass.

Does my Insurance rates go up if I use my insurance?

No, using comprehensive insurance is like using medical insurance. It covers acts of nature, which includes rocks and debris coming from the road, vandalism, things that could damage your vehicle without a collision. So no in most all cases this type of claim does not affect your rates.

How long will this take?

It depends on the vehicle... some common types may be in stock and can be installed same day, but usually next day service if your order is placed before 3:00 pm.  Certain times of the year volume is high and appointments may have to be scheduled within two or more business days. We will strive to keep enough staff to keep your business going by being available next day in most cases.

Can my windshield be repaired?

Stone chips can be repaired if they are no larger than say a quarter in size. They should be repaired as soon as possible because the damage could spread, creating a side to side crack, which would require complete windshield replacement.  The longer you let the damage remain unfixed, the more dirt and road film will collect in the damaged area and it will be easier to see where it was repaired because of residue that would not come out. So call us as soon as you get the chip and we will be there to get it repaired and get you back on the road! The repair process usually takes less than 30 minutes and is covered by many comprehensive policies with no cost to you! Call us today and we will contact your insurance company to see if you are covered for this procedure and get your windshield fixed before you know it!

Will the auto glass be the same quality as I have in my car right now?

The auto glass we install will meet or exceed original mfg specifications.

We use many brands of glass including Pilkington, PPG, Carlite, Mopar, Guardian & LOF.

What is your guarantee?

We guarantee our auto glass 100% against any installation problems for as long as you own your vehicle. (Pre-existing rust or body damage void this guarantee, US residents only)

How do I know if the job is done right?

If a windshield is not properly installed or not bonded with proper adhesives it can come out during a collision and cause serious injury. It can also lead to air whistles and water leaks. You should find an experienced installer who is properly trained to professionally install your windshield. With over 15 years experience JJC Auto Glass takes the time to do the job right the first time, so you'll avoid problems down the road. A quality windshield installation usually takes between 45 - 90 minutes and involves multiple steps.  You can rest assured that we put every effort into quality because your safety depends on it.

What type of glass is in my car?

Windshields are made from a lamination process. A windshield actually consists of two pieces of glass, bonded together by a vinyl interlayer. This vinyl layer helps keep the windshield in place during an accident and even cushions your head during impact (although not your softest cushion). If a windshield breaks during impact, the broken pieces will generally adhere to the plastic lining. Side and back glass windows are made with tempered glass, which is produced by heating the glass and then rapidly cooling it. This results in the outside surfaces of the glass becoming harder than the center of glass and it is stronger than regular glass of the same thickness. If broken, tempered glass will break-up into very small pieces.
